Sea Days
At the beginning of a cruise, often, there are one or two sea days and that time is normally taken up with reading, wandering around the ship or hanging out at the pool deck and slathering on sun block.
On this trip, unfortunately, our two sea days have been spent 100% confined inside the ship.
The sea has been so rough, and the waves so high, that it was considered extremely unsafe for the passengers to venture out on to the open decks - all doors to the outside decks were either physically locked, or had barriers across them. Swimming pools and hot tubs, were emptied, to stop the water from slopping everywhere, and netted to prevent passengers from falling into the empty voids.
This morning, while eating breakfast in a dining room which is 9 floors above sea level, a rogue wave hit the bow of the ship and splashed up to the windows beside us. The whole ship shook, and shuddered, as a deluge of water poured down so close to us and scared the living daylights out of us.
Fortunately, neither of us have been sea sick, have not fallen or otherwise hurt ourselves and tomorrow we will be on dry land for the day.

While drinking tea in the afternoon, near the water line, a much calmer sea is running when compared to this morning.
The door was opened by the strength vacuum created by the wind on the outside of the door
Pools have been emptied and netted for safety
